The search engine celebrates birthday of the legendary guitarist, songwriter and inventor with a doodle.
Today is the 96th birthday of the legendary guitarist, songwriter and inventor Lester William Polsfuss better known as Les Paul and Google has decided to celebrate it with an interactive doodle.
The doodle is the digital version of the electric guitar known as the Gibson Les Paul that you can play by rolling the cursor over it.
Les Paul who died on August 12, 2009 had designed the solid body electric guitar and has been credited with a lot of recording innovations.
The country and jazz guitarist developed interest in music when he was all of eight. He started off by playing the harmonica, then the banjo and finally the guitar.
As renowned as he was for his innovations, Les Paul was also known for his experimental guitar playing style.
He was also included in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1988 and later in 2005 was in the National Inventors Hall of Fame.
Les Paul won two Grammys in 2006, when he was 90 and passed away on August 12, 2009.
The Google Doodle allows you to play the notes by rolling your cursor over it.
